From Martha to Karen

So I did make some crafts this month. I got the ideas from the Martha Stewart website - where most of my ideas come from. I started with these cute shrunken heads made out of apples.

Then I made these adorable candy corn pots to give away to Visiting Teachees.

It was really fun, but I'm a little burned out now. I think I'll take a little break from crafting and start working on cooking for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll keep you posted.

Hiking in the Uintas

In August (I know) Jonathan and I decided to get up bright and early one Saturday morning to go hiking in the Uintas. We brought Tito along to enjoy the great outdoors, we thought it might be too much for the little doggies. We really enjoyed the hike, but we didn't actually make it to any destination because we had to get back to Provo for Suzie's birthday party. It was a really nice hike, and it was nice to spend time together out in nature. I think we'll definitely plan on a real hike next year.

Saluone Family Fishing Day

In August the Saluone family decided to have a fishing day. We drove around Provo Canyon for about an hour trying to find a spot. We had never seen the canyon so busy. Finally we found the perfect fishing spot in a business park near the mouth of the canyon. The kids had so much fun fishing and putting the worms on the hooks. No one caught anything but it was still fun.

After the fishing we went to Cornel & Bekki's and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. They were yummy!

A Whole Lot of Nothin'

I skipped September. Not just on this blog, but in real life. I swear it never happened. But October is finally here and I'm excited for Halloween. I will resurrect last year's Halloween decorations with a few new twists and I'm looking forward to it. Although that means I actually have to work on some new things... I'm hopeful.

There's really nothing new with me - hence the lack of posts in September. Jonathan started school which caused our schedules to be even more opposite than they already were. We get to spend about three hours of quality time together Monday - Thursday, Friday mornings and all day Saturday & Sunday. It's not that bad, but it does make M-Th REALLY boring and blah. I feel like all I do is get up, go to work, go home, eat, watch TV, go to bed. Then I repeat that cycle 3 times and *voila* I've lost 96 hours of my life! Repeat that four weeks at a time and 384 more hours bite the dust. Fun to think about, huh? Not so much.

Anyway, I'm hoping that Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas will help to cheer me up and give me things to look forward to. Hopefully I'll have more to post this month as I work on fall crafts & stuff. Loves!
